Gather everyone in a circle—family, friends, even strangers at your table. Each person gets 60 seconds to answer one question:
“What happened this year that you still can’t believe actually happened?”
Not what you’re grateful for in the polite, expected way. Not the sanitized version. The thing that makes you shake your head. The near-miss that became a miracle. The person who showed up when no one had to. The door that opened when you were sure they were all locked.
The rules:
1. No interrupting
2. No fixing or advice-giving
3. When someone finishes, everyone snaps their fingers (silent applause—keeps the energy contained and sacred)
4. Go fast—don’t overthink it
You’ll hear gratitude doubled by wonder in real time.
You’ll watch people remember their own magic.
And you’ll leave the table knowing things about each other you never would have otherwise.
That’s the practice; Make space for people to voice their disbelief at what grace has done. The rest will take care of itself.
