This nonprofit music education association is a part of one of the world’s largest singing organizations for women: Sweet Adelines International. Formed in 1998, TuneTown Show Chorus has successfully competed in Sweet Adelines regional chorus competitions, earning it the privilege of representing a five-state region internationally. TuneTown competed in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019
at the international level. TuneTown Show Chorus sings 4-part a ca****la music that has been arranged in the Barbershop harmony style, one of the few music forms that originated in this country. We put a contemporary spin on traditional Barbershop and perform everything from gospel to music sung by such artists as Elvis Presley, Bette Midler, The Judds, Alabama, The Beach Boys, Joe Cocker, Abba, Harry Connick, Jr. -- even Michael Jackson! The more than 65 members during the day are students, managers, teachers, secretaries, nurses, housewives and lawyers, but on Monday nights they are musicians sharpening their singing skills. Our exceptional director Steve Scott brings a wealth of expertise to the chorus. We also take advantage of talented coaches from across the nation. Family-oriented, fast-paced and refreshingly different entertainment, the chorus performances have been hits at events such as Ga***rd Opryland Country Christmas as well as at local churches and civic events. We were overwhelmed when we had to start dragging more chairs into the auditorium to make room for everybody. Thank you to everybody who came out to support us at our show last night. We haven’t been able to do that since 2018! The Ladies, High Gravity, and Don’t Call Me Shirley did NOT disappoint. We had special appearances from several Disney characters and many soloists who did us proud. THANK YOU.
