The frame drum is one of the oldest instruments on the planet. People have been playing it around fires for thousands of years.
So naturally I recorded one and made it sound like it lives inside a Nintendo cartridge I blew on in 1989.
That’s CARTRIDGE doing the damage. Four generations of console audio, and I went straight for the crunchiest setting because restraint has never been my thing.
Then I tracked a live loop on the kit, put two instances of PRISM across the whole mess, and spent way too long soloing individual bands like I was defusing a bomb. Splitting drums by frequency and treating each band differently sounds nerdy right up until you hear it. Then you can’t stop.
Thousands of years of tradition, thirty seconds of bitcrushing, and a multiband glue job to make it all get along. It’s time for a ham sandwich.
CARTRIDGE and PRISM are both out now for Mac and PC. Get them here: https://yurtrock.com/products/the-prism-cartridge-plug-in-bundle-vst3-au-aax
