Flash Me Fam this designer needs no introduction, but just in case you didn’t know meet Ashleigh of .co (Ayjah Clothing Company).

Q1.) Why did you choose the brand name ‘ Ayjah Clothing Company’?

My dear Aunt "Bo" from Arkansas chose the name AYJAH for me. She said it was from God, and I took it and ran with it. Man, was that the greatest decision ever- I wouldn't have chosen another. It's a blend of my name- Ashleigh Yancy, and my brothers Aijahlon Yancy. Super unique, and glad to be blessed with a God Given name.

Q 2.) What advice would you offer to someone looking to start designing from a cut - n - sew stand point?

Create without boundaries, create from your heart, and create alongside no one. In our design journey we are faced with many obstacles including but not limited to : designers block, comparison to others, Financial setbacks, doubt in the quality of our craft, lack of knowledge, and lack of support. If you heard that this is the path you shall take, go for it - no matter what comes your way. Each designer is different, but cut-and-sew is so very special. It is a dying art- sewing that is. So perfect it, use it to your advantage, again create without boundaries, and live in individuality.

Hey Fam - let’s get to know the man behind the brand -Daniel

Q1.) Why did you choose the designer name ‘DoronnaH’?

I choose the name DoronnaH to honor my great grandmothers who passed away when i was a teenager. One being named Dorothea and the other named Hannah, i combined both of their names to become DoronnaH. Which was never planned but still a blessing.

Q2.) What advice you would spread to young creatives about pursuing your passions?

To the Young creatives, never give up on what keeps your heart pumping, never give up on gives you goosebumps, never give up on your Gifts because there is purpose in passion. And your passion is not only meant for you but to also help another creative spark their passion 🔥
