Angelina Community Theatre We produce local plays and musicals with local talent and musicians as well as produce an acting camp for kids in the summer.

MISSION STATEMENT: The Angelina Community Theatre’s (ACT) purpose is to afford opportunities for cultural and artistic enrichment in East Texas by providing a venue for local talent to produce live theatre for the entertainment of diverse audiences. Our goal is to educate both youth and adults in all aspects of the theatre and to encourage volunteers to learn and showcase their skills, both on and

off the stage. ACT’s mission is to provide a place for the citizens of Angelina County and outlying areas, regardless of economic status or ethnicity, to have a place to learn basic theatrical skills, as well as to have performances for the community.

We had a packed house, and we couldn’t be more thankful to everyone who came out to support! ❤️

We celebrated last season with performances from our past shows, talked about ways to get involved, and—of course—announced our BRAND-NEW SEASON! 🥁🎉

🥊🎭 STAGE COMBAT: IT’S ALL FUN AND GAMES… UNTIL IT ISN’T! 😂

Our cast of Watch on the Rhine has been getting comfortable with some stage fighting, and let us tell you—there is A LOT that goes into making a fight look believable on stage!

Will it look intense when you see it in the show? YES. 😳

Is the actual process of learning it mostly a lot of laughing, practicing, rolling around, figuring out where everyone is supposed to be, and saying “WAIT… DO THAT AGAIN”? Also yes. 😂

Stage combat is all about trust, timing, choreography, and making sure everyone stays safe while creating something that looks completely real to the audience.

Our actors are putting in the work, learning something new, and having a LOT of fun along the way! We love getting these little behind-the-scenes glimpses into the process of bringing Watch on the Rhine to life.

🎭✨ THERE’S NOTHING QUITE LIKE COMMUNITY THEATER. ✨🎭

One of the things we love most about community theater is that there truly is something for everyone. Different ages, different backgrounds, different talents, different stories—and somehow, we all come together to create something that belongs to our entire community. ❤️

At Angelina Community Theatre, our season brings you a little bit of everything—from comedies and musicals to dramas and historical stories, with opportunities for people of all ages to get involved both onstage and behind the scenes.

And our first production of the season, WATCH ON THE RHINE, is bringing something a little different to the stage.

This powerful drama combines history, family, tension, and some truly wonderful moments to tell a story that will capture your attention and give you plenty to think about long after the curtain closes. It’s a different kind of theater experience—and we’re so excited to share it with Lufkin and the surrounding communities.

Our cast has been working incredibly hard in rehearsals, and we could not be more proud of how well this group is coming together. Watching these actors build their characters, connect with one another, and bring this story to life has been such a joy. ❤️

🔨 SET BUILD DAY #1! 🎭

We were up bright and early this morning and headed over to the storage unit to pull all the different pieces we needed to start bringing our staging together. From there, we loaded everything up and headed over to our AMAZING designers’ space, where the real work began! 🛠️✨

And WOW… this cast. ❤️

We had so many incredible people show up ready to jump in and help, and that is exactly what community theater is all about. It truly takes all hands on deck to bring a show to life, and there is something so special about watching everyone come together, pitch in, and learn from one another.

One of the things we love most about theater is that you don’t just get to perform—you get to be a part of so many different pieces of the process. You learn new skills, meet amazing people, discover talents you didn’t know you had, and become part of something much bigger than yourself.

Today was just the beginning, and we already can’t wait to show you what we’re creating! 👀

🎙️🎄 WORLD WAR II RADIO CHRISTMAS — AUDITION DETAILS! 🎄🎙️

We’ve had quite a few people asking for some more specific details about our upcoming World War II Radio Christmas auditions, so we wanted to give you a little more insight!

🎶 What about the songs?
Because this is a radio show, the music is made up of songs that most of us already know and love! And since this production takes place during the Christmas season, you can expect a fair amount of familiar Christmas music mixed into the show. 🎄📻

🎭 Who are we looking for?
Actors of ALL ages! We are looking for:
• A couple of kids
• A couple of teens
• Young adults
• Older adults

Basically, if you’ve ever thought about getting involved in community theater, THIS is the perfect show to jump in! ❤️

Angelina Community Theatre is so excited to announce our FIRST-EVER FUNDRAISING GALA featuring:

✨ WORLD WAR II RADIO CHRISTMAS ✨

Step back into the 1940s for a heartwarming, fun, family-friendly Christmas show filled with music, nostalgia, comedy, and all the charm of an old-fashioned radio broadcast!

🎭 AUDITIONS
📅 September 27
⏰ 5:00 PM
📍 Lufkin VFW

Auditions will include a cold read from a scene, and we’ll also have everyone sing a few lines from some of the songs so we can hear your voice and get a feel for the musical elements of the show.

🎶 And PLEASE don’t let the singing aspect scare you away!

Yes, we need some wonderful singers for this production, but you absolutely do NOT have to consider yourself a singer to audition! We would love to see actors who are interested in being part of this production, whether you’ve performed before or this would be your very first time on stage. ❤️

🎺 JAZZ MUSICIANS WANTED!
We are also looking for jazz musicians to help bring that authentic 1940s sound to life! Musicians are welcome to audition in person, and we will also be accepting video submissions. More details on musician auditions will be coming soon!

✨ BUT THIS IS SO MUCH MORE THAN A SHOW! ✨

Our December production will be part of Angelina Community Theatre’s first-ever fundraising gala, featuring a dinner AND the show, all benefiting our Lights Up Campaign!

💡 Our goal with Lights Up is to raise the funds needed for Angelina Community Theatre to purchase our own professional lighting and sound equipment, allowing us to take our productions wherever we want to go without having to constantly rent or borrow equipment.

Every ticket, every volunteer, every performer, every musician, and every helping hand will help us bring that goal closer to reality. ❤️

And if you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to be involved in theatre, but I don’t want to be onstage…” — WE NEED YOU TOO!

Backstage crew, costumes, props, set help, stage management, tech, volunteers… there are SO many ways to be part of this production, and we could use all the help we can get!

We’ve officially revealed our 2026–2027 Angelina Community Theatre season, and we could not be more excited about what’s ahead! 🎉

We’re kicking things off with the show that has already been cast and is currently in rehearsals…
