There are all sorts of times you might want to give or send a card to a friend, colleague, or loved one and they mean so much more when you’ve made it yourself and personalized it for the occasion and recipient. Two opportunities to learn and make holiday cards with Diana Frelich:

Holiday Cardmaking: Friday, November 13th, 6-8pm. Learn cardmaking basics, collage and design techniques and materials. Make 4 cards.

Intermediate Cardmaking: Thursday, November 19th, 6-8pm. $15, scholarships available. Delve into more complex layering and die cutting in cardmaking. Make 3 cards.

Diana Frelich has been in Livingston for over 50 years. Her sister started her on making cards 60 years ago, she enjoys it and still makes them now. Diana has taught all kinds of people how to make things and it is a treat to see the range of creations she makes when she visits us in the shop. She also made the mushroom people in our shop window!! 🤗

We can’t wait to learn Slow Stitch together! Join us on Saturday morning, October 17, 10-11:30 am.
Slow Stitch is more about the process of putting needle and thread to fabric with repeating straight stitches in various arrangements than an end goal.

The age-old practice of sewing has found new traction today for its meditative practice and relaxed approach to applying curiosity and creativity to let things unfold naturally without an end goal. Joanie has been playing with fabric, needle, and thread since she was 10. She likes slow stitch because there are no rules, no right, no wrong. It’s contentment as you stitch.

It’s Wednesday and this is the last Wednesday will be open for a while! Here’s what we’re doing for the next couple of days along with a peak at hours for the rest of October. Ariel from roguesunfloweratelier is in the shop today. Ask her sewing questions or drop in and say hello — in French!

Free craft supplies are awesome but there’s a few more things at the Swap that “put the icing on this delicious cake”! You’ll find a break area with coffee, tea, and treats and some cozy chairs to rest up so you can get back in there! A connection board opens up opportunities to connect with supplies, tools, classes and workshops (you dream it up!). And last but not least, the Museum of Unfinished Projects. We’ll keep you in suspense on this one until our post later in the week…

It’s not spring so you can’t do spring cleaning, but how about FALL cleaning?? It might be cliché at this point, but the leaves are teaching us how to let go! 🍂 So let go of your stashes of craft supplies so that other people can find joy in creating with those supplies. Early drop off of craft supplies for the swap begins September 24th so you still have PLENTY of time to sort through your closets, garage, craft room, and all those other nooks and crannies where you have shoved craft supplies!
