Big Project PowerPack Update!

The evaporators are going in!

Standing 45 feet tall and weighing about 100,000 lbs each, these evaporators are a key part of virgin kraft paper manufacturing. They concentrate black liquor by removing water, allowing it to burn efficiently in the recovery boiler.

This process recovers reusable chemicals, produces energy, and allows water to be treated and reused, reducing freshwater use, effluents, and costs. The recovered chemicals are converted from black liquor to green liquor and back to white liquor, keeping the kraft pulping process running strong.
