Our upcoming Harmonies for Hope concert highlights the power of coming together to uplift, support, and create moments of strength through music.

We are proud to partner with a local nonprofit On Stage 4 Cancer whose mission aligns with what this afternoon is all about.

On Stage 4 Cancer aims to provide financial support to local artists whose income is affected by cancer, particularly gigging musicians. Be sure to stop by their booth at our event to learn more about their mission and how you can help those affected by cancer in our community.

We are thrilled to introduce Taylor Giorgio, the soloist for our performance of Schindler's List and concertmaster! 🎻

Taylor Giorgio is currently the visiting assistant professor of strings and music education at St. Norbert College, where she serves as the string studio instructor and orchestra director. An avid orchestral musician, she is the concertmaster of the Civic Symphony of Green Bay, assistant concertmaster of the Sheboygan Symphony, and violinist with the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra, Weidner Philharmonic, Manitowoc Symphony and Sinfonia Gulf Coast. Taylor also conducts the String Orchestra for the Youth Orchestra Program at St. Norbert College, serves as a violin sectional coach for the Fox Valley Symphony Youth Orchestra and teaches and performs as violin faculty at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Mich., in the summer season.

Meet Kevin Short, another of our trumpet soloists featured in Harmonies for Hope on May 17th! 🎺

Kevin Short resides in Green Bay, where he is a technician at Instrumental Music Company. As a performer, he has played with the Green Bay, Wausau, and Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestras, and plays regularly throughout central and northeastern Wisconsin, including appearances with such artists as Roberta Flack, Clark Terry, Michael McDonald, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, the Moody Blues, the Four Tops, the Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Anne Murray, Kenny Rogers, and Aaron Neville, as well as performances with touring Broadway shows.

Meet Adam Gaines, one of our trumpet soloists featured in Harmonies for Hope on May 17th! 🎺

Adam Gaines is a Professor of Music at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. In addition to teaching the trumpet studio, Dr. Gaines directs jazz ensembles, teaches jazz history and improvisation courses and works with music technology. He has performed as a soloist in his native Kentucky, as well as throughout Indiana, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, and at the Montreux and North Sea Jazz Festivals. In the Green Bay area he can frequently be heard performing with Brass Differential, a New Orleans-style funk band. He holds the principal trumpet chair in the Weidner Philharmonic and is an active freelancer throughout Wisconsin. Dr. Gaines holds degrees from the University of Louisville (Bachelor of Music, 1999) and Ball State University (Master of Music, 2001 and Doctor of Arts, 2005).

Meet John Daniel, one of the trumpet soloists for our May 17th concert! 🎺 Pictured with our Artistic Director, Seong-Kyung Graham.

John Daniel is a retired Professor of Trumpet who held tenured positions at Abilene Christian University, Penn State University, and Lawrence University. He earned degrees from Ball State University (BM), the University of Iowa (MA), and the University of Michigan (Specialist in Music).
He has served as principal trumpet with the San Angelo Symphony Orchestra and Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra and currently performs with the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra and Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra. His performing career includes appearances at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and collaborations with major orchestras and Broadway productions.

Daniel has recorded both classical and jazz projects, including his album A Calling and the Karel Husa Trumpet Concertos recording. He is also the author of Special Studies for Trumpet, a widely used pedagogical text, and was a member of the Brass Band of Battle Creek for over two decades.
