As the official school of Texas Ballet Theater, we train the stars of tomorrow by strengthening dance technique and building confidence, discipline and creativity. Texas Ballet Theater School is the Official School of Texas Ballet Theater. It is the long standing goal of Artistic Director Ben Stevenson, O.B.E., to develop a school of national and international importance providing the North Texas

community with professional instruction in the art of classical ballet. All classes are conducted in a safe and nurturing environment with skilled teachers working to meet the needs of each individual dancer. Students enrolled in the school have the opportunity to showcase their talent on stage throughout the year, including Texas Ballet Theater’s annual production of Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker and performances throughout the Fort Worth and Dallas communities. Texas Ballet Theater School Fort Worth offers a nurturing environment for students ages 3-21 and our students have the unique opportunity to observe professional classes and rehearsals while at the studio. Our curriculum is centered on classical ballet training with the addition of Modern, Jazz and Pointe at the intermediate and advanced levels to give students a well-rounded dance education. We also offer Adult "drop-in" ballet classes which are open to all ages and experience levels and do not require enrollment in the school. Texas Ballet Theater School Dallas offers a complete training program for both the recreational dancer and those who aspire to be professional dancers. We offer classes in classical ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and contemporary, from beginning to advanced and pre-professional levels. The curriculum at the Dallas school includes training for the Royal Academy of Dance examinations and the American Academy of Ballet Performance Awards. We’re welcoming one of our own back to the studio! Join acclaimed dancer Betsy McBride for an exclusive Master Class at the TBTS Preston Center Studio on Friday, September 4, from 6:30–8:00 p.m.

Originally from Coppell, Texas, Betsy trained at Texas Ballet Theater’s School before joining the company under Ben Stevenson, OBE. From 2007–2015, she rose through the ranks to become a TBT Principal Dancer. She later joined American Ballet Theatre, where she was promoted to Soloist in 2022.

With an impressive career spanning classical, contemporary, and international stages, Betsy brings a wealth of artistry and experience to the studio. Now, she’s returning to North Texas to share her knowledge with the next generation of dancers.

TBTS Advanced students ages 13+ and local dancers are invited to join us!

Tomorrow, Early Giving begins for —and we’re inviting our TBT School community to come together to support the next generation of dancers.

After returning to the studio, we’re already feeling the excitement of a new year at Texas Ballet Theater School. New goals, new friendships, new challenges—and so many moments to look forward to.

From Nutcracker auditions and performances to competitions, classes, rehearsals and everything in between, there’s a lot to be excited about in the months ahead.
