The Falconaires wrapped up their recent tour with a concert at 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐨 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲’s bandshell outside Quigley Band Hall, co-sponsored by the 𝐆𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦. It was a fitting final stop as we celebrate America’s 250th—filled with great music and meaningful connections with the Gunnison community!

We honor the life and legacy of Dolly Parton, whose influence reached far beyond country music. Through her Imagination Library, disaster-relief efforts and support for education and medical research, her generosity touched millions of lives.

This photo from Wild Blue’s Nashville tour—representing the U.S. Air Force Academy and performing at the Grand Ole Opry—now holds even greater meaning. Thank you for the music and the example, Dolly. 🤍

When he’s not leading the band as Drum Major, MSgt Wolfe performs on guitar with Wild Blue and clarinet with the Ceremonial Band.

The segment offered a comprehensive look at the USAFA mission—from cadet athletics and academics to airmanship programs, including drill teams, parachuting and glider operations. The 10th Air Base Wing was also on hand to represent the support agencies that keep the Academy mission moving.

Members of The USAFA Ceremonial Band opened the segment with “The U.S. Air Force,” followed by a brief interview with Lt. Gen. Moga, and closed it out with the “Falcon Fight Song.”

The Falconaires had an incredible time performing at the Salida Jazz Festival at Riverside Park. With a beautiful Colorado backdrop, a fantastic crowd, and even a few people getting up to dance, it was the perfect setting for an afternoon of live jazz.

Wild Blue had the honor of celebrating a very special milestone: 𝐖𝐖𝐈𝐈 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐲 𝐯𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 (𝐒𝐊𝟑) 𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐲’𝐬 𝟏𝟎𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲! 🇺🇸🎂

Jerry served in the U.S. Navy from 1944–1946 as a Storekeeper Third Class (SK3). Stationed on Guam, he was part of a supply depot responsible for stockpiling and delivering critical parts to Navy ships and vehicles.

They spent the afternoon at Brookdale Monument Valley Park sharing music with Jerry, his family, friends, and community—and, of course, leading everyone in a very well-deserved rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Members of a local VFW also honored Jerry with a special pinning ceremony.

It was a privilege to spend part of Jerry’s 100th birthday with him, celebrate a century of life, and recognize his service to our nation.

And yes, there was cake. 🎂

The United States Air Force Academy Band congratulates SMSgt Heike Gazetti on her retirement after 𝟐𝟖 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 to the United States Air Force.

Throughout her remarkable career, SMSgt Gazetti served as a clarinetist, deployed as part of the AFCENT Band, and spent five years serving the members of the Academy Band as First Sergeant. 𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭—𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲—𝐟𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 of the United States Air Force Academy Band.

Her legacy is one of musicianship, leadership, and service to both the Air Force mission and the Airmen alongside her.

Congratulations on your retirement, and thank you for 28 years of dedicated service. We wish you all the best in the years ahead.
