September is here.

It’s such a beautiful month, and one I really do love, but it can also feel SO FULL. Full of excitement, new routines, after-school activities, classroom changes, end-of-summer blooms, mums, Halloween already popping up in stores, and those days that suddenly feel shorter because it’s getting dark earlier.

Yoga classes are also starting to fill a little earlier in the week than later, which makes sense. I think our bodies start to crave that slowdown and connection at this time of year.

Our personal/family calendar is filling up, and I’ve been working behind the scenes on Pinehurst activities, workshops, and some shopping pop-up ideas for fall.

There’s a lot of unknown in September, but there is also so much beauty in it.

We still have some availability in September and into November for kids’ birthday parties, showers, private garden experiences, workshops, and small celebrations.

So here is your little September reminder: yes, it’s a full month, but it’s not too late to create something beautiful together.

Farmstand update! 🌸

Fresh flower bouquets are stocked and ready for you! Every bloom was grown right here at Pinehurst and gathered straight from the garden.

We’re soaking up every last bit of summer color before the mums and fall favorites begin arriving. For now, we’re letting these beautiful blooms be the star. 💐

Planted these tomatoes from seed… and here we are, going into September, FINALLY getting red tomatoes. 😂🍅

I’ve watered them, fed them organically, trimmed them, staked them up, and watched every green tomato hanging on these plants.

But I wasn’t worried. I knew they would ripen in their own time.

And just like the 90s said it best…

FINALLY. 🎶🍅😂

Sometimes the garden just makes you wait.

Anyone else still waiting on their tomatoes to turn red?! 🍅🙋‍♀️

Farmstand update! 🌻🍅

Fresh-cut flower bouquets and tomatoes are at the farmstand!

Fall is coming, and in the next few weeks we’ll start bringing out mums and some of our fall favorites. But for right now, we’re letting these late-summer flower blooms be the star. And they are showing off. ❤️

So many of these flowers were started from seed right here at Pinehurst, and I’m soaking up every last bit of them before the season starts to change.

Stop by the self-serve farmstand and grab some flowers for your table and tomatoes for dinner. 🌸🍅

This past weekend, Pinehurst was the backdrop as a beautiful family showered a soon-to-be bride with the sweetest garden tea party. 🌿🫖🤍

Working with and meeting families from our community, then seeing them come into this place, relax, celebrate and soak up the gardens and growing spaces is such a humbling feeling. I don’t know if I’ll ever quite find the right words for it.

So much love and work has gone into Pinehurst over the years, and seeing it filled with people celebrating some of life’s biggest moments is really special.

Congratulations to the whole family, and Molly - you looked absolutely stunning! 🤍

If you’re looking for a unique garden experience to add an intimate and personal touch to your celebration, reach out to us. We would love to help you create something special here at Pinehurst.

Ummm… this is the smallest little gray tree frog I have ever seen. 🥹🐸

And yes, he’s GREEN! Gray tree frogs can actually change color depending on their surroundings, and this little guy is basically the exact color of the zucchini. 😂💚 Talk about camouflage!

Yeah buddy!!! You can stay. Help us with the bugs! We need all the help we can get around here. 😅

Just another day finding the coolest little things in the garden. 🌿

And just like that, summer break is over…. We have a 7th grader and a freshman. How did that even happen?! 🥹 The kids just keep getting bigger, the years keep going faster…

Coal is officially back on morning duty, watching the bus stop from the front window. This morning he alerted Gianna that there was a fox across the street. She looked up just in time and even got a video. And said she heard him from the house and then saw his paws pacing at the back gate trying to get to her🦊

It’s the little things. Coal watching over his people, a fox across the street, back-to-school mornings and getting ready to settle into our fall routine. I love it all. ✨🥰❤️

Good luck to all the kids, teachers and staff heading back this week. Here’s to a great year…and getting used to those alarms again once the back to school novelty wears off . 😅

Yesterday we made a reel about our pollinators and protectors here at Pinehurst. The bees pollinating and the barn cats protecting the beds and barn from unwanted rodents.

And then we have Coal. 😅

From drinking out of the beer traps we put out for the slugs to chasing moths around the garden. 😂 This pup really is something!

Never a dull moment with Coal around. 🖤

The past few days we have been battling slugs in the garden. 😩 Especially on our cucumber and squash plants.

I put out beer traps and apparently Coal thought they were for him. 😅🍺 Caught him drinking right out of one as soon as I put them in.

Tonight will be my 3rd night in a row heading out with a flashlight and pulling those nasty things off the plants. 😅🤢🫣

The things we do for the garden. 😂🌱And clearly Coal is no help in this case.
