While I mostly play techno, like most "music people", I actually love more than just a single genre. In fact, when running EPiKA, I make sure our parties always have a second room with beautiful, softer, but very danceable electronica, of as good quality as the techno room! Last year, EPiKA has launched SOFT at the People’s Leisure Club, which I headlined this May. I treated my set there as a SOFT "manifesto". SOFT nights at the PLC - and the SOFT room at the The Bongo Club - should be multi genre, moving gently between electro, house, tech house, techno (but not the hypnotic kind), emotional . Unafraid to take from the past, baseline focused, with sharp shares and broken drum patterns. And yes, very much melodic, not focussed on drops and quick tension. That set was all of these things, and I was genuinely very proud of it.
An additional cool thing is that I mixed my own track, "Restless" (Andy Barton ) , with Der Dritte Raum's "Hale Bopp", a track older than some - many - people on the dancefloor that day.
Super happy that Resident Advisor liked it too.
Big love to lara🍭 for the continuous support!
I've attached the tracklist published by epika a while ago!
