JOB KLAXON 🚨🚨🚨🎭 it's that time of year again! We are looking to add a guide to our talented team.

Will you be in Edinburgh this July and August? Looking for something part time you can do alongside other work and/or performances? We are looking to expand our little independent tour company and add an additional guide to our team!

The Dark Side Tours have been running for 5 years and perform small 2 hour walking tours in Edinburgh and Glasgow. You can find a full description of our Edinburgh tours here (including our incredible reviews):

Benefits:
- Guaranteed £50 per tour (not including tips, those are all yours!). Opportunity for more, this can be discussed during interview.
- Complete control over your schedule. You decide the dates/times of your tours, meaning they can fit in around your performances/other work.
- Next day payment straight into your bank account/PayPal
- Meet tourists from all over the world in small manageable groups.
- Learn and perform gruesome historic tales of our beautiful capital.
- Fully scripted experience, so no need for personal research but open to your own interpretation.
- A year pass to perform tours in Greyfriars Kirkyard, fully paid for by us.

Preferred requirements:
- Experience in tour guiding is preferred but not a must.
- Experience in performance. This would be a perfect position for an actor performing at the Fringe Festival.
- availability for 3/4 tours a week.
- Old fashioned period costume. Your comfort is of upmost importance to us. You will be playing a character from the past. If you have something that is both practical and looks like something from the 1700s please mention in your application. We can also try to source something for you.
- Based in Edinburgh.

Madam McKinnon and William Burke have descended on Edinburgh Town for the Summer! ☀️ Book now to hear the city's gruesome history told by two of the darkest spirits to ever haunt its streets. 💀 Hear from their skewed perspective and laugh at their morbid humour 😂

Madam McKinnon is rotted to the core, but still has a heart! Believe it or not, she was once in love 😍. Her lover even came to her ex*****on. They performed a little ceremony to say goodbye 😢

Instead of asking for a last drink, Madam McKinnon asked for a wedge of orange 🍊. The bartender almost fainted, a Scot refusing a drink and eating fruit! 🫨 But she had a plan, you see. Standing on the gallows rope around her neck, she held the wedge of orange between her lips and on her last dying breath, she bit down. Her lover, standing in the crowd with his own wedge of orange, did the same. The release of sweet juices over their lips was to represent one last parting kiss 💋

How sweet! 😍 Unfortunately when Madam McKinnon knocked on her lover's door to reunite, he ran away 😢 Shocked by this turn of events and repulsed by her rotting co**se 💀

Where is everyone? Must mean one thing! The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is over! Well done to all the artists surviving another August of chaos 👏 it's no easy feat 🏆

Now our streets are quieter and our days getting shorter, what better time to book on one of our tours?!
