Day 3. Victoria by the sea. The sun came out at last! This small community is voted as one of Canada’s best village. It is known for its artistic flair - art, pottery, galleries, architecture, and quiet seaside scenery. homeowners on the main street are able to have a small retail space of 500 ft.² in their homes. It is also poured for fisherman who arrive every day fishing lobster and clams. We saw them arriving. Many people waiting in line to buy directly from the fishermen. The day ended beautifully with a visit to the new residence studio of ottawa artist, Christopher Griffin. He has renovated and older garage and turn it into his home in studio. His partner Sonny played the piano for us. How much better can life get ?

What a great day we had before our show on Thursday at the Details Fine Art Gallery.

Day Two. Argyle Shore. PEI. We had better weather and then came the rain but late enough to sketch and start our paintings. This you guys seen is one of the most favourite by tourists and artists. The owner of the house came to meet the group and was so happy to see the painting in front of her property. Last year the field was a bright yellow canola field. It really tells the story about how nice people are the Islanders. The art retreat participants are busy painting their third painting today and many of them will have a painting as part of the exhibition hosted at the Details Fine Art Gallery this Thursday evening. The event will be a fundraiser for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital foundation. It takes place at the Gallery from 4 PM to 7 PM and all are invited. Today we visit and paint in one of the most beautiful village in Canada, Victoria by the Sea. More to come.

Day One. Art retreat in PEI. All 26 of us have arrived safely in beautiful PEI. Great group of people.

We went out to New London Wharf to take in the scenery and get behind the plein-air easels to capture it. We ended up indoor at the Charlottetown Yacht Club to paint in light of the rain.

The group was back on the bus for a 3 hour sightseeing tour of PEI with a true Islander related to the famous author Ludy Maud Montgomery who wrote Anne of Green Gables. We ended the day with an amazing dinner at the Dunes Cafe and Gallery.

The weather for tomorrow looks promising. PEI you are beautiful with your beautiful landscapes open skies architecture and Islanders.

Greg Benz and Richard Sturgeon.

A powerful combination where the artists combine their love and passion for nature by pairing the emotional colour of the landscape of lake Huron and Northern Ontario with the structural skeleton of nature.

Just painted yesterday and sold right off the easel today to a collector in Collingwood who recently purchased five paintings from Gordon through the Mountainside Gallery.

The painting is part of the new collection from Algonquin Park - Where the wilderness meets the sky. It is a scene from our boat ride on the Opeongo Lake. This beautiful painting is 40 x 84. More paintings from this collection available on our website.

Well done Gordon Harrison.
