Ottawa Little Theatre The Ottawa Little Theatre has been a vital part of the Ottawa arts community for more than a century

Ottawa Little Theatre (OLT) has been a vital part of the Ottawa arts community for over 100 years, making it the oldest continuously running community theatre in Canada. With a 380-seat licensed auditorium and lobby, OLT is anything but “little”. Around 40,000 patrons walk through our doors each season to enjoy OLT’s plays, special events and more. OLT produced over 1,000 plays in our first centur

y, and continues to present 3-week runs of a 9-play season. All directors, designers, actors and stage crew are volunteers. As a charitable not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization, OLT relies on its subscribers, ticket buyers and individual donors to provide more than 70% of its income. OLT has a long and illustrious history, and many of the actors who stood on the OLT stage have gone on to successful careers in film and television, and continue to do so!

"Newsham portrayed the at once insufferable Dr. Stagg. With nuance and feeling, Newsham slowly and brilliantly exposed the character’s subtle heart to reveal a deeply sympathetic man. Not to be outdone, Carole Brown played the steely Lieutenant Kay Summersby, a career soldier who is secretary, chauffeur, mechanic, and confidante to Eisenhower. She is the glue of the supreme commander’s team, and Brown glows in the role. With oil-stained hands and a no-nonsense attitude, Brown’s Summersby advocates unerringly for what is right while revealing a gentleness strikingly at odds with the blustering and often shouting men around her."

"At its core, Pressure is about leadership, responsibility, and the courage to stand by your convictions. We know how history ends, but the play's power lies in revealing the human stories behind the facts. One of the most striking moments comes when Stagg discovers a note dropped by Eisenhower—a prepared concession speech taking full responsibility for a failed invasion. It's a sobering reminder of a time when leaders accepted accountability with dignity."
