Darpan Performing Arts, Ottawa Darpan is an Ottawa based dance group with the goal of taking both the audience and the performers on a journey into various regions of India.

Darpan (meaning mirror, pronounced dur-pun) is an Ottawa based not for profit dance group with the goal of taking both the audience and the performers on a journey into various regions of India through its folk dances, providing them an exposure to the life and spirit of ordinary folks in India.Darpan was founded in 2005 by its Artistic Director, Lovina Srivastava. Darpan has been and continues to

be extremely active through participation in numerous national, fundraising and community events over the years. The goal of Darpan is to use music and dance to increase cultural awareness among people from varying ethnic backgrounds to help create a harmonious global mosaic of cultures. Lovina has learnt, taught and has performed various Indian folk dance styles in various parts of India, over the years. Darpan's dances are performed by local Ottawa people who share a passion for dance and music and are choreographed by Lovina Srivastava, the artistic director of Darpan.

2nd Holi on the Hill was organised by Member of Parliament Mr Chandra Arya, in collaboration with High Commission of India, on March 10, 2017 at the Parliament Complex in Ottawa. The event was attended by more than 500 people.

Darpan Ottawa performed at the "Know-India” event organized by the Indian High Commission in collaboration with Export Development Canada (EDC)” on 22 June 2016

The event showcased India’s cultural diversity, tourism and yoga along with trade and investment opportunities including flagship programmes such as ‘Make in India’, ‘Clean India”, ‘Digital India’, ‘Smart Cities’, etc.

Darpan Performing Arts featured in Times of India for their 'Holi - A dance drama' presentation at 'Holi on the Hill' event on March 24th 2016. A huge thanks to the Indian High Commission, Canada for their support.

The first ever Holi celebrations at the Canadian Parliament complex in Ottawa took place on Thursday, with a number of parliamentarians joining members of the Indo-Canadian community to play the festival of colour.
