Curiosity 🦊 Acrylic on stretch canvas
This piece has gone through so many stages. I posted it a few weeks ago thinking that I was finished, but it turns out is was not - just tried to rush to finish. But after coming back to it time and time again, I think I’ve struck a good balance of soft and bold, sharp and loose, realism and abstraction. I haven’t done this large a realistic animal painting before so it was an overwhelming amount of detail at some point. It can be hard to know when to stop. However, all good things take time and I’m happy to add this one to my collection! More animal portraits to come 🐑🐄🐖
