DOMS Weekly free noon-hour concerts, online and in Old Ottawa South The series is artistically directed and administered by Roland Graham.

The flagship of Southminster’s music ministry, Doors Open For Music at Southminster (DOMS) is a free noon hour concert series offered on Wednesdays from September to June. The series features emerging and young professional artists from Ottawa and beyond in accessible 45-minute programs designed with both the seasoned aficionado and musical neophyte in mind. A fundamentally non-profit venture, fre

ewill offerings are gratefully accepted at each concert and shared between the artists, production costs and the church. Southminster is home to a legendary 9’ Heintzman concert grand piano, originally from Massey Hall in Toronto, where it spent the first half of the 20th-century as a concert piano played by such artists as Horowitz, Rubenstein, and Rachmaninov. Southminster is the proud home of Steinway D606, a splendid nine-foot grand piano, manufactured in 2012 and first brought to the region by the Ottawa Steinway Gallery, then purchased by the church through nearly $150,000 in donations from music and piano lovers across the region.

As we close the books on another remarkable season of Doors Open for Music at Southminster, I'd like to ask for one final favour.

🎶 A special invitation to our DOMS community — Mozart’s Requiem TONIGHT 🎶

After another wonderful season of Wednesday noon-hour concerts at Southminster, we invite our DOMS friends to join us for a very special evening performance from our sister project, Ottawa Choral Workshops.

Tonight, more than 100 Ottawa musicians come together for Mozart’s extraordinary Requiem — featuring the OCW Choir, professional orchestra, and an outstanding cast of local soloists.
The program also includes Mozart’s Ave verum corpus, Samuel Barber’s Sure On This Shining Night, Mark Sirett’s Prayer of Aiden of Lindisfarne, and Roland Graham’s setting of E.E. Cummings’ i thank You God for most this amazing.

As always, the goal is the same: bringing people together through great music and celebrating the incredible artistic talent in our community.
