We are happy to share that our friends from Montreal, Akademia Białego Orła, will be participating in the 20th International Festival of Polish Folklore Groups in Rzeszów, Poland.

We are especially excited that two of our dancers will be joining Akademia Białego Orła for this incredible experience.

We wish Akademia Białego Orła and all the participating groups a wonderful festival filled with inspiring performances and new friendships.

Montreal, KANADA

Kierownik/choreograf: Ryszard Schmidt

Świętująca 60-lecie działalności kulturalnej, funkcjonująca w Montrealu AKADEMIA BIAŁEGO ORŁA jest czołowym reprezentantem polskiego folkloru w Kanadzie. Wyrosła ona z dziedzictwa wcześniej działających zespołów „Podhale” i „Syrenka”.

Our dance group had a wonderful time celebrating the summer solstice the Polish way! 🌿🌸

One of the most cherished traditions was floating our flower wreaths on the river, a symbolic custom connected with love, hope, and good fortune.

It was a joyful evening filled with music, laughter, and appreciation for the beauty of nature and the abundance of the season.

Thank you Ottawianki, for bringing us together for such a special event, and to everyone who joined us in keeping these traditions alive and making the celebration so special. ☀️💚

We had a wonderful time at the Stittsville Multicultural Festival, proudly representing Poland alongside so many talented cultural groups.

Performing at a multicultural festival is always a special experience. It gives us the opportunity to share our heritage, celebrate diversity, and connect with people from different backgrounds through music and dance.

We even had a chance to have some fun with the video booth! Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and everyone who came out to support the event.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of performing alongside dancers from other folk groups at the European Union festival.

The festival was set on the beautiful grounds of the Canadian Museum of History. It was a wonderful opportunity not only to share our Polish heritage, but also to learn about the costumes, music, and dances of other European countries.

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, fellow performers, and everyone who came out to celebrate European culture with us.

We hope to be back next year, proudly representing Poland once again! 🇪🇺🇵🇱

What made this year’s Ottawa Polish Day so special was the incredible energy and participation of the audience! 🇵🇱✨

One of the highlights of the festival was when all participating dance groups: Polanie, Vistula, Academia Białego Orła, Syrenka and Polonez Hamilton, came together and invited festival goers to join the Polonez: a traditional Polish dance often performed during important celebrations and events. Seeing dancers and audience members united in one beautiful procession was truly unforgettable!

Together, we created what was likely the longest Polonez ever recorded in Ottawa! Thank you to everyone who danced, celebrated, and shared this special moment with us.
