CALGARY — I’m coming your way for the Calgary Tattoo & Arts Festival, October 16–19! 🔥

I’m currently looking to take on a large-scale black and grey realism project that we can work on over 2–3 days during the convention. I’m also open to incorporating pops of red into the design for anyone wanting something with a little extra contrast.

I’ll also open to do 1 full-day tattoo projects.

If you’ve been thinking about starting a large-scale realism tattoo, sleeve, leg piece, back piece, or something completely custom, this is a great opportunity to work together while I’m in Calgary.

Messing around with the mic and getting to know some of the amazing tattoo artists in Ottawa I get to work alongside at Rareform Tattoo Studio. 🎤😂

One of the best parts about working in an Ottawa tattoo studio surrounded by talented artists is that you’re always learning. Every tattoo artist has a different style, different techniques, and a different way of approaching a tattoo design.

These great individuals constantly push me to grow and become a better black and grey realism tattoo artist by showing me new ways to think, create, problem-solve, and approach the craft of tattooing.

I wanted to start showing more of the talented people behind the tattoos and give everyone a chance to get to know some of the Ottawa tattoo artists I’m lucky enough to work with.

Tried something new with this one 🌿

Stepped outside my usual lane and worked on a softer black and grey botanical tattoo, using flowing leaves, fine details and natural movement to complement the shape of the arm. I really enjoyed changing things up and approaching this piece with a different style.

Always good to push yourself creatively and try something outside your comfort zone.

A piece with a lot of meaning behind it. 🖤

This black and grey realism tattoo was designed to represent his son, Jack. We incorporated Jack playing cards, a detailed pocket watch, and an important date to create a completely custom family tattoo that tells his story.

I don’t usually do tattoos this small — especially when it comes to black & grey realism.

This one was actually a humbling experience for me. Working at a smaller scale reminded me just how important patience, precision, and restraint are. There’s less room for error, and every feather, shadow, and transition has to be carefully placed to keep the tattoo readable without losing the realism.

Sometimes the smaller pieces challenge you just as much as the big ones — just in a completely different way.

Always learning. Always pushing to get better. 🦅

Second pass on this piece 🔥

This session was all about going back in and bringing out more of the details—strengthening the contrast, refining the textures, deepening the blacks, and adding those smaller elements that help the tattoo really come to life.

With black and grey realism tattoos, sometimes the second pass is where everything starts to lock in. More depth, cleaner details, stronger values, and a finish built to stand out once fully healed.
