Fans gathered at Mayfair Theatre in Old Ottawa South on Friday for its monthly screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was the first of the long-standing showings to take place since Tim Curry's death earlier in the week.

What an incredible night we had at the Mayfair! Thank you to the hundreds of people who packed the theatre to pay homage to the great Tim Curry!

It's clear by the sold out show, the impromptu vigil, the tears, the laughter and all the torn fishnets that this legendary man will never be forgotten and that his spirit lives on at the Mayfair and in the hearts of countless people the world over.

We'll be Time Warping with you again on Friday September 25th.

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to the LEGENDARY Tim Curry. He has played a major part in our lives here at the Mayfair Theatre and we can't thank him enough for all the laughs, the thrills, the chills and the unapologetic courage and pride he has inspired in millions of fans worldwide.

We will be performing our Friday night show in memory of this daring and talented human being who taught us the meaning of "Don't Dream it, Be It".

We love you Mr. Timothy James Curry and we will be seeing you at the late night, double feature picture show. 🥀

A bit of local Rocky Horror history. 50 years ago, the Towne Cinema on Beechwood Avenue started its legendary midnight screenings of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

These screenings thrilled the citizens of Ottawa and ignited Rocky Horror fever in the National Capital. It's in large part thanks to these midnight shows that Rocky Horror has continued success here at home today.
