Hello Laughlin/Tripp relatives! I have been asked to make you aware that our Tripp connection is planning a very special 200 year reunion/celebration of their landing in Canada in 1833. The celebration will be taking place in 2033 and the committee is looking for help in organizing this special event. See letter below for contact info etc.
Three Laughlin siblings married three Tripp Siblings. Thomas Laughlin married Harriett Moon Tripp, Robert Laughlin married Mary Ann Tripp and Eliza Stevenson Laughlin married Samuel Adams Tripp. You can view their albums here.

Re: Tripp Family 2033 Reunion
You are receiving this letter as it is understood that you are a descendent of Samuel Somner Tripp and Sarah Story, and one of their children Henry Tripp and Susannah Adams, Mary Ann Tripp and Charles Broughton Wilson, Sarah Tripp and John Ferguson, or Eliza Tripp and Mordecai Lester.
As one of the members of “our Tripp family”, we want to let you know that we are in the early stages of planning a Tripp Family Reunion in 2033. This 2033 reunion would be held on the 200th anniversary of when Henry and Susannah Tripp came to Canada in 1833. They settled in Fitzroy Township, Carleton County, Ontario. They were followed by Henry’s parents and some of his siblings in 1835.
In August 1933, a 100th year reunion was held on the William Tripp farm at Fitzroy Harbour. Over 400 people attended that reunion, and that is why we are planning to hold this reunion in Fitzroy Harbour on August 26, 27 and 28th 2033 to mark the 200th anniversary.
A committee is being set up to facilitate the reunion. If you would like to give some input to this venture, please let us know.
We are in the preliminary stages of setting up with the Fitzroy Harbour Community Association a booking of their whole site for the reunion.
A Facebook (Meta) group Tripp Family 2033 Reunion has been set up and we invite you to join and share pictures and information about your Tripp family history.
We encourage you to reach out to your family and let them know about the planned Tripp reunion. It is important that we are able to contact as many family members as possible as we approach the reunion.
Thank you.
