ACTRA proudly announces a new collaboration with IMDbPro, the essential resource for entertainment industry professionals, that will make it easier to showcase your verified union membership to fans, casting directors, producers and entertainment professionals around the world.

ACTRA members can now add a verified ACTRA badge to their IMDbPro pages, providing a trusted, visible way to identify as members of Canada’s professional performing community - and giving you a new way to be discovered through IMDbPro's world renowned platform.

This new badge verification signals our union’s place in the global industry with ACTRA only the second performers’ union in the world to feature verification of affiliation.

“Verification gives ACTRA members a powerful new way to showcase who they are, what they’ve accomplished and stake their rightful place among the world’s finest professional performers,” said ACTRA National President Eleanor Noble.

In the 2025-2027 Independent Production Agreement (IPA), ACTRA, the CMPA (Canadian Media Producers Association) and AQPM (The Association Québécoise de la Production Médiatique) agreed to organize a summit between Indigenous Producers and Indigenous Performers to discuss the realities of Indigenous production in Canada, with the goal of creating a Framework for Action.

ACTRA is seeking approximately 15-20 Indigenous ACTRA members from across the country to represent ACTRA at the Indigenous Production Summit this Fall.

ACTRA Ottawa members, check out a great opportunity for marginalized, diverse performers. This intensive one-day workshop is designed to equip emerging and established performers with the practical tools, confidence, and industry knowledge needed to excel in today's film and television audition landscape.

Led by acclaimed actor, director, producer, mentor, and ACTRA National DEIB Chair Mariah Inger, participants will explore every stage of the audition process, from interpreting casting breakdowns and preparing self-tapes to delivering compelling in-room auditions. Through practical exercises, on-camera coaching, and industry discussion, performers will strengthen both their technical audition skills and their professional confidence.

C'mon Prime Minister Carney... it's just a little slice. The foreign streamers make billions from Canadian consumers so let's end their free ride and bring back the 15% investment obligation into Canadian culture. It's wafer thin!

Any business getting rich off of Canadians' backs should put something back into the market they so eagerly profit from. Netflix, Disney +, Prime Video, apple tv +, Paramount + and more, all must do similar to operate elsewhere such as in France, and they didn't leave that market nor boost subscriber fees through the roof.

Canadian sovereignty and the future of our stories on our screens needs funding and it shouldn't be left to taxpayers when these American billionaires are living rent free north of the border. "America has changed"... and it’s time for Canada to change its own rules too.
