PSA: While hoops can create a beautiful aesthetic, I generally do not recommend healing most piercings with them. Hoops tend to move and rotate much more than studs, which can lead to irritation, prolonged healing, and increased snagging. Initial jewelry also needs to be larger to accommodate swelling, causing even more movement throughout the healing process. In certain situations, I am willing to make exceptions as long as clients understand the additional commitment and patience that healing with hoops may require.
