Coming back to the city is an adjustment after living at the cottage on the lake where the silence is deafening save for the water lapping or the loons wailing.
One saving grace is that my beautiful hibiscus flowers are blooming. They are the size of dinner plates!

As I sit here with water sloshing over my feet, I feel like Goldilocks with a version of the three chairs or is it bowls?
In this case it’s the photo so I can show off the view from my vantage point sitting in a perfect size Adirondack chair on my dock looking out at the lake. From farther out to closer in, does large, medium or small give the better view?

Sometimes I look at a print reference while I’m drawing as inspiration and a starting point.

Today’s focus is on the collage elements which came from my scraps collection at the cottage. I left everything else bare bones.

As I’m writing I have an idea for tomorrow’s page to take this idea one step further.

Foe those of you who may not know, I set myself this 100 day challenge to draw a face every day in my sketchbook. I wanted to restrict myself to a free form line drawing of a face plus at least one other element to make it mixed media.
I set myself this challenge because I wanted to draw more and what better way to start a daily drawing habit than to commit to a challenge?
