Our hearts are full! 🫶 Thank you for joining the Ottawa Symphony and Heart Institute communities for The Measure of Us. It was a beautiful reminder that music is it's own medicine.

For Eve Legault, The Measure of Us is deeply personal. ❤️

The inspiration for this concert began after Dr. Marc Ruel restored her father’s health through open-heart surgery.

Marc is not only one of Canada’s leading cardiac surgeons, but also an accomplished pianist and a friend of Eve’s. Their shared love of music inspired a collaboration with the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, bringing friends and colleagues together for an afternoon in support of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation.

“The inspiration for this project came after Dr. Marc Ruel restored my father’s health through open-heart surgery.”
— Eve Legault, Artistic Director and Conductor

On October 3, leads the OSO in a program of Rossini, Fauré and Canadian composer Maxime Goulet, culminating in Beethoven’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 5, the Emperor, with Marc at the piano.

A concert born from gratitude, friendship and a shared love of music. We can’t wait to share this special afternoon with you.
