Got plans for tomorrow night? Now you do! Plosive's dynamic duo of David Whiteley and Vivian Burns (both featured in our last show, Private Fears in Public Places) are joining with the Gladstone's other resident companies and frequent collaborators to offer you Songs for a Winter's Night: A Solstice Fundraiser for the Gladstone at The Gladstone tomorrow evening at 7:30!

Vivian is reprising a past role as one of the Gladstone Sisters from our beloved annual Radio Shows. David, meanwhile, will share that quintessential Canadian Christmas story, "Dave Cooks the Turkey" and will also dust off his violin, viola and cello for the occasion. They join with other actors and singers you may know and love: Nicholas Amott, Rachel Eugster, Robin Guy, Andrew Mah, Scott Richardson, and Doreen Taylor-Claxton, hosted by the indefatigable Teri Loretto. Together we're offering a wide array of songs, stories, and poetry, to make the season a little warmer—and to raise funds for the Gladstone.

Read more about the event (and buy tickets) at https://thegladstone.ca/shows/songs-for-a-winters-night/. We hope to see you there!

…Or do you have other titles/themes/styles/priorities you'd like to see Plosive focus on as we contemplate future programming?

Tony winners André De Shields and Matthew Broderick are leading two different Off-Broadway productions, showing how Molière’s farce is unfortunately timely.

Wait, PINEAPPLE Day is a thing? And it's TODAY?!? Celebrate with an Ambrose Special! As featured in Scene 43 of Private Fears. In the play, Ayckbourn gives it the English-sounding alternate name "Mad Dog" but really it's clearly a Blue Hawaiian. Ambose focuses on the booze and downplays the fruit, mixing fresh cream with the coconut cream in this recipt: https://www.culinaryhill.com/blue-hawaiian/ -recipe-container-111913 4 oz of liquor! No wonder Imogen struggles with it!

This tropical Blue Hawaiian cocktail is made with pineapple, coconut, rum, vodka, and Blue Curaçao (for that lovely blue color).

Written a year after Love Actually and echoing some of it's best elements, but better: where Love Actually is all heart and belly laughs, Private Fears has heart, belly and brain.
