This is a before and after of my piece Drawn out, taken on a beach in Greece. I don’t always know what exactly is drawing me to take a photo, only that something has captured my eye - a colour, a pattern, a line..something. Something I want to work with when I get home and start the editing phase. In this case it was the beautiful blues, pinks and purples in the water.

Drawn Out will be available in a 24x32 inch gallery framed piece at the Manotick Inspirations show the weekend of weekend of April 24-26. It is also available in custom sizes. Limited Edition of 5, only 3 left. Come checkout those colours for yourself!

Looking forward to the showing some of my new work at the Wine and Cheese at the Art Hub in Carleton Place Saturday from 2-5. These pieces were all taken during an early morning stroll in Venice. I have been experimenting with pops of colour, enjoying something new.

Sometimes artists wonder why we do shows. They can be exhausting and sometimes sales aren’t as good as we hope. But they can also be very uplifting. I just had a wonderful conversation with a visitor who was truly interested in my process; how I choose the initial shot, how I decide on the final composition, how much I edit and tweak, how I decide what to print on. He left incredibly inspired (his words) and I am not reinvigorated and very happy to have someone truly appreciate my work. Sometimes that is wirth more than a sale. (Shhhh don’t tell my husband I said that!).
