That’s a wrap on summer events! I’ve met so many new people, and reconnected with other folks, and it’s been a joyful ride! Grateful to Equator Coffee Almonte, Urban Art Collective.ca , The Tunic Show by Laura Jean Starkey, and the Women’s Art Festival in Kingston for the opportunities to create & learn & connect. 💕

I printed my collages on rice paper and embedded them in encaustic medium. Then, depending on the placement or the piece, I added collage bits of thin papers or pigmented encaustic brushstrokes to unify the work with the base. I love the irregular and organic nature of beeswax, and I LOVE that bees are matriarchal… the medium supports the ideas in the collages!

Please come see me at my last event of the summer: the Women’s Art Festival in Kingston this Saturday, August 8. I will have many of my trickster animal paintings along with encaustic pieces, original mixed media drawings, hand-embellished prints, stickers of my work, a chapbook of my collages & poetry, the bracelet project, and my award-winning tunic (🤯).
