For Vincent, the path to finding his passion wasn't easy. He had many jobs and for a time went for months at a time without any contact with his family. In 1880, he lived in poverty in Belgium. In describing his relentless quest for purpose he wrote to his brother Theo.
‘… on the road that I’m on I must continue; if I do nothing, if I don’t study, if I don’t keep on trying, then I’m lost.’

Pour Vincent, le chemin pour trouver sa passion n'a pas été facile. Il avait de nombreux emplois et, pendant un certain temps, est resté pendant des mois sans aucun contact avec sa famille. En 1880, il vit dans la pauvreté en Belgique. En décrivant sa quête incessante d'un but, il a écrit à son frère Theo.
