November 20 is UNICEF’s global day of action for children and by children.
On this day, children around the world speak up about their lives, their dreams, and their rights.
From the moment the sun rises, children wake up to a world shaped by choices they did not make—yet every child, everywhere, wakes up with rights: the right to safety and protection, the right to learn, and the right to have their voice heard.
World Children’s Day is a reminder that we must listen to children. We must understand their realities—where their rights are fulfilled, where they are missing, and how they fight every day to be seen and heard.
Let’s stand together.
Let’s amplify children’s voices and defend the rights of every child.

امروز ۲۰ نوامبر روز جهانی کودک روز جهانی اقدام یونیسف برای کودکان و به‌دستِ کودکان است؛
به کودکان گوش بدهیم و هر روز برای حقوق هر کودک بایستیم.
در این روز، کودکان سراسر جهان درباره زندگی‌شان، رویاهایشان و حقوق‌شان سخن می‌گویند.
از لحظه‌ای که خورشید طلوع می‌کند، کودکان در جهانی بیدار می‌شوند که تصمیماتش را آن‌ها نگرفته‌اند؛ اما هر کودک، در هر نقطه از جهان، با حقوقی بیدار می‌شود: حقِ امنیت و حمایت، حقِ آموزش، و حقِ شنیده‌شدن.
روز جهانی کودک یادآور این است که باید به کودکان گوش دهیم؛ باید بفهمیم زندگی آن‌ها چگونه می‌گذرد، کدام حقوق‌شان محقق شده، کدام نادیده مانده و چگونه هر روز برای دیده‌شدن تلاش می‌کنند.
بیایید کنار هم بایستیم.
صدای کودکان را بلندتر کنیم و از حقوق هر کودک دفاع کنیم.
در روز جهانی کودک، با دل شنوا گوش دهیم و صدای کودکان را در مسیر آینده‌ای بهتر همراهی کنیم.

Sama Ceremony – A Sacred Presentation at the Rumi Festival 2025

With pride and reverence, this year’s Rumi Festival featured a live Sama Ceremony — a mystical and ancient ritual rooted in centuries of Sufi spirituality.
Sama is not merely a performance; it is a sacred act of remembrance — a return of the heart toward divine love, unity, and truth.

The dervishes who share this ceremony with us will remain anonymous, as this anonymity symbolizes humility and the transcendence of the self — the essence of Sufism. Accompanied by live traditional music, the ceremony invites us into a contemplative space where movement, rhythm, and silence come together as a profound form of prayer.

This rare presentation will be conducted with utmost care and respect to preserve the authenticity of the ritual. For this reason, the names of the performers will not be announced, and acknowledgments will be directed to the accompanying musicians.

مراسم سماع – یک ارائه مقدس در جشنواره مولانا ۲۰۲۵

امسال در جشنواره مولانا شاهد اجرای مراسم سماع با موسیقی زنده بودیم؛ آیینی عرفانی و کهن که ریشه در قرن‌ها معنویت صوفیانه دارد. سماع صرفاً یک اجرا نیست، بلکه آیینی مقدس برای یادآوری و بازگشت دل به سوی عشق، وحدت و حقیقت الهی است.

درویشانی که این مراسم را با ما به اشتراک می‌گذارند ناشناس باقی می‌مانند؛ چرا که این گمنامی نمادی از فروتنی و فراتر رفتن از نفس در قلب تصوف است. با همراهی موسیقی سنتی زنده، سماع ما را به فضایی تأمل‌برانگیز دعوت می‌کند؛ جایی که حرکت، ریتم و سکوت در کنار هم، عمل عمیقی از نیایش را شکل می‌دهند.

این ارائه کم‌نظیر با نهایت دقت و احترام برگزار می‌شود تا اصالت این آیین حفظ گردد. به همین دلیل، نام هیچ‌کدام از اجراکنندگان ذکر نخواهد شد و قدردانی‌ها به سمت نوازندگان همراه معطوف خواهد بود.

Across every culture, music, poetry, and movement help us express joy, sorrow, pride, and love. Our goal is to foster a nurturing, inclusive environment that brings people together, strengthens cultural connection, and celebrates the diverse artistic heritage of our Ottawa community.

All ages, backgrounds, and skill levels are welcome. Whether you sing, play, dance, or simply want to experience the magic of live community performance—this stage is yours.

As we gather around our tables and reflect on the blessings of this season, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you.

To our incredible Iranian and Farsi-speaking newcomers and refugees in Canada, your resilience and strength inspire us daily. You've enriched our community with your unique stories and cultures, and we're so thankful to have you as a part of our family.

This Thanksgiving, we're not only celebrating the opportunity to serve you but also the support and love that flows within our community. The way you support one another, share your experiences, and uplift each other is truly heartwarming.

We promise to continue our unwavering commitment to serving you better, to be a shoulder to lean on, and to provide you with the support you need to thrive in your new home.
