Ottawa folks! I had to reschedule my September Night Sky Workshop because of an unexpected health event. The new date is October 24th and there are seats available!

This is a beginner friendly project where you will learn to warp, weave and finish a woven wall hanging and play with some simple embroidery.

Date: Oct 24th
Time: 1pm- 4:30pm
Location: Blackburn Hamlet
Cost: $98 All Supplies Included

I finished this beauty a few weeks ago and she needs a permanent spot on the grid. If you’ve been here for a while, you know that my work is largely inspired by the beautiful landscapes of Northwestern Ontario. There is something magical about being on the water and watching the sun go down.

She’s about 22”36” inches and woven on my Roving Textiles Ace Loom.

The Ottawa Valley Weavers' and Spinners' Guild
show is my next in person event, come see it and the work of many other talented artisans at The Glebe Community Centre on Nov 7 and 8. 🧡🧶

Well, I’ve had an eventful week. What started last Wednesday afternoon as some mild indigestion had me in the ER that evening. It was the start of what would be a 48 hour long gallbladder attack that only ended in emergency surgery. The pain I was in prior to the surgery was excruciating, I would compare it to labor, except that with labour there is a break between the contractions! I was unaware I had gallstones so to say this was a surprise is an understatement. The surgery went well and I am home and resting.

And now…travel is being postponed, workshops rescheduled and my workload adjusted. I have a lot of feelings about what happened and what it means coming into my busy season AND it’s all OK. If you’ve taken one of my workshops, you may have heard me say there are no weaving emergencies. I stand by my words 🙂

So friends, onward I go!
Slowly and with no gallbladder.
One day at a time. 🧶🧡

KINGSTON! I am happy to share that I will be guest teaching at Inner Harbour Yarn on Oct. 25th.

This is a beginner friendly workshop where I walk you through weaving a wall hanging from start to finish.

On Sunday, October 4th, I am looking forward to teaching a charming little LAMBscape workshop at Stone Manor Studios.

This class was previously one of two being held on the 4th but we have decided to separate them so that each project will get all the love it deserves, and our weavers will have more time weave a more detailed and larger piece.

This workshop will include weaving, needle felting and simple embroidery. It’s a beginner project guaranteed to bring a smile to your face!

Stone Manor Studios is located in Newboro, the perfect distance for a Sunday afternoon drive from both Ottawa and Kingston. The link to the class is in the comments. I would love to see you there!

Here’s a peek at some of the new pieces I will have with me at the Almonte Fibrefest next weekend. Inspired by nature and woven with love!

The event is taking place at the Almonte Arena, doors open at 10am each day and admission is $5. For the price of a coffee you can spend hours surrounded by all kinds of fibre goodness!
