Artist Spotlight ✨

Dutch painter Louis Apol had an exceptional natural talent and found success at a young age. Encouraged by his father, he began taking private lessons and eventually studied at The Hague Academy.

Apol is best known for his stunning landscapes, winter ones in particular. These paintings brought him much success, winning him gold medals and even gaining recognition from the Queen at the time.

Louis Apol’s work, such as this beautiful and detailed sketch, can be found in several museums today. If you ever find yourself in Amsterdam, there is a street named after him to honour his achievements in the arts field.

Let’s keep Apol’s legacy alive and show his magnificent work some love ♥️

Let’s talk paper 🎙

Simply put: different paper types will produce different results.

• We recommend printing on a giclée or fine art paper for the most authentic looking results. Your print will literally look like you stole it right off the museum wall.

• Next best, a matte heavyweight photo paper. Its budget friendly and we especially recommend if you plan to put glass over your print. It won’t create a reflective glare.

• Next up, you can do a lustre photo paper, depending on what look you’re going for. This result looks a bit less authentic and may create a glare if you’re putting it under glass.

• Last, try printing it off at home for a quick and cheap alternative!

Go forth and use this knowledge wisely.

What book are you currently reading? I’ll start!

Currently (and likely forever) I’m loving ACOTAR. These prints look like someone plucked ACOTAR from my mind’s eye and created a beautiful, surreal visual representation of the imagery in the novels.

“Falling Star” and “Rinaldo” are giving real ACOTAR vibes and we can’t get enough of it ✨

What a view! Painted in England in 1768, this beautiful painting features the Third Duke of Dorset, his horse and hunting dog.

The large tree and meadow beyond the Duke add depth and contrast to the composition. We adore the rich earthy tones in this print and how it adds a historic character to any space.
