🚀 Something exciting is coming to Mic-Bot 3D Shop!

We’re planning our first 3D Printing Workshop, coming December 2026!

Whether you’re completely new to 3D printing, a hobbyist, or just curious about how it all works, this hands-on workshop will cover the basics of 3D printing, including printers, materials, software, and taking a digital model all the way to a finished print.

Mic-Bot 3D Shop is taking a leap we've been dreaming about since day one: our first real commercial space. Right here in Ottawa. A proper shop floor.

What does that mean for you?

EVERY creation starts with an idea. Sometimes that idea is a napkin sketch. Sometimes it's a vision for a one-of-a-kind business display piece. 🖤

This custom Grim Reaper figurine was designed AND printed from scratch by us. A customer came to us with a concept for their pre-arrangements business: a smiling Grim Reaper holding a scythe and a sign that reads "LET'S TALK ABOUT YOUR PRE-ARRANGEMENTS." We brought that vision to life, detail by detail. 💀

Every part of this piece was modeled, printed, and finished in-house using our FDM and resin technology with 25 color options. The robe, the blue garment, the custom sign, the scythe, all custom from the ground up. 🛠️

Fair question. Let's break it down.

A lot of people see 3D printing as "just melting plastic" — but what you're actually paying for is machine time, operator skill, post-processing, and the guarantee that what you ordered is what you get.

Here's what's really behind the price:

⏱ Time is the biggest factor. A single high-detail or multi-colour print can run 4 to 24 hours. Even a quick one-hour job requires setup, bed calibration, cleaning, and post-processing — none of that is instant.

🖨 Our tech isn't basic. We run active multi-colour FDM systems and ultra-high-resolution 16K resin printers built for industrial-grade detail.

🛡 We absorb failures so you don't have to. If a 15-hour print fails at hour 14, we eat the cost and reprint. You only ever pay for a finished, flawless piece.

It was an absolute pleasure working on these custom trophies for the Deaf Blind Institute! 🙌

From concept to creation, we custom designed these models from scratch based on their exact specifications. Each trophy was brought to life through a combination of resin and FDM printing, then meticulously post-processed, sanded, painted, and finished with a clear coat. We added several extra fine touches to ensure each piece is truly one-of-a-kind.

These hand-sculpted designs represent connection, communication, and community—values we're proud to celebrate. Thank you for trusting us with such a meaningful project!
