"It’s such a beautiful day and such a beautiful world that I must “bubble over” to someone and you, old journal, are the only one I dare bubble over to. Oh, the world is so lovely now. It is the very prime of glorious springtime. The apple orchards are pinky blush, the cherry trees are wreaths of perfumed snow; and in the mornings the fresh moist air is dizzily sweet with their delicious odors and resinous breaths of fir. The fields are like breadths of green velvet and birches and maples swing heavy curtains of green leaves. Oh, it’s a dear beautiful world."
