Join us in welcoming bestselling novelist and award-winning TV writer Zoe Whittall, writing as Frankie Scott for Chasing Summer, to this year’s Cavendish Literary Festival! 🎤📖

Her recent novels include The Fake, The Spectacular, and The Best Kind of People, which was a finalist for the Giller Prize and named Indigo’s #1 book of the year. She has also worked on the Baroness von Sketch Show, Schitt’s Creek, Degrassi, and other TV shows.

In discussion with moderator Amy Stuart, Zoe will discuss the inspiration behind her latest novel, the enduring appeal of romance, and her remarkable career spanning bestselling fiction and beloved television series. At the end of our session on September 26th, Second Chances & Summer Romance: A Conversation with Zoe Whittall, she will be available to sign your copy of her book! ✍🏼

We’re thrilled to be welcoming back Donna Jones Alward, Author to this year’s Cavendish Literary Festival!

Donna is the author of Ship of Dreams and When the World Fell Silent, two historical fiction novels, with her third scheduled for release in 2027. In her former life she was a romance novelist with 65 titles to her credit that have won awards, hit bestseller lists, and have been translated into over a dozen languages.

Montgomery’s Cavendish Legacy Tour brings you beyond the pages 📖

The full-day guided bus tour will allow you to visit significant sites connected to Montgomery’s life, including her birthplace, the Anne of Green Gables Museum, Green Gables Heritage Place, and many of the locations that inspired iconic settings.

Your guide, Denise Bruce (Denise of Ingleside Tours), is well-known in the community as an artist, writer, and one of Prince Edward Island’s foremost L.M. Montgomery historians.

⏰ 8:45 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
📍 The bus tour departs from and returns to the Cavendish Visitor Information Centre and visits several L.M. Montgomery historic sites.

Join us in welcoming Sharon Bala as one of our featured voices at the 2026 Cavendish Literary Festival! 🎤📚

Sharon is the Creative Non-Fiction editor at Riddle Fence Magazine, and her most recent novel, Good Guys, was published in January 2026, with Publishers Weekly calling it “quietly profound” and a “blackly comic tale.”

Her best-selling debut novel, The Boat People, won a Newfoundland & Labrador Book Award and the Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction, was shortlisted for several awards, and is in translation in four languages!

Sharon Bala Takes on the Good Guys, an author presentation and book signing, will be taking place on September 25th. In conversation with Laura Chapin, Sharon will discuss her second novel, Good Guys, and festival attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and meet the author.

Joining us again this year is Carrie Lundy, a school teacher, yoga instructor, and author who in 2022, published her first book, So Hum, a collection of poetry that captures love and loss through the lens of yoga. 📖🧘‍♀️

Join Carrie, along with featured voice Sandra McIntyre, on September 26th for The Power of Perspective: a workshop on point of view!

The group will begin with gentle breathing and beginner-friendly movement to connect with yourself and your natural surroundings. Following, Carrie will then guide you on a 20-minute mindful walk designed to ignite the senses and see the beauty of the world around you with fresh eyes, much like Anne would have.

This workshop includes writing exercises that will leave you with a clearer sense of the terminology and more confidence in your point-of-view choices. Don’t forget to book your tickets!

We’re thrilled to have Terrilee Bulger and her expertise join us at this year’s Cavendish Literary Festival! 🎤📚

Terrilee Bulger has worked in the book industry since her teenage years and is now the co-owner and General Manager of Nimbus Publishing and Vagrant Press, the largest English-language publisher east of Toronto, and serves as Publisher of The Acorn Press.

Passionate about storytelling and regional voices, she is committed to supporting independent publishing and amplifying stories from Atlantic Canada. Since her leadership, Nimbus has expanded its program to produce more than 50 titles annually across genres including fiction, non-fiction, history, and children’s books, with a strong focus on Atlantic Canadian stories and culture.
