Objects with Narratives OWN believes in shifting the incentive of design from esthetics and function to objects powered by n In between those worlds, OWN creates its own hybrid genre.

On rare occasions, one can become engaged with a piece to a level beyond flash, when they start to create a deeper bond with the object. Storytelling does this far more powerful than esthetical or functional considerations alone. With this approach, objects become merely the medium where it is more about owning a narrative rather than the physical object. Therefore we believe in shifting the incentive of design to objects powered by narratives. Hence our platform’s name Objects With Narratives...

A Nomad Gallery
OWN is neither a niche gallery nor a stand alone commercial shop. A platform that concentrates on the value and the story of the pieces itself rather than the name, style or era of the designers that represent the objects. We make uncommon & collectible design pieces accessible for everyone around the world in a transparent and reasonable way, while taking care of their designers needs. We thus provide a creative space actively empowers bold creators to present their story-driven work through an interactive web shop, other online channels and physical exhibitions around the world. A platform for designers by designers. We work together with household names as with young designers who don’t have or have a limited following and notoriety, as long as each designer has a strong narrative behind their work and practice. Our services vary depending on the level of support the designer needs. We will be able to offer sales and marketing, logistic and production options. The designers benefit from a large network of other designers that they can collaborate with.

Karl will transforms the gallery into an imagined forest floor inhabited by illuminated metal forms. Resembling mushrooms without reproducing any particular species, the works appear somewhere between organisms, machines, sculptures and lamps. The title refers to mushrooms as the visible fruiting bodies of much larger fungal organisms concealed beneath the ground.
Monies sees these forms as totems of inner travel and transformation. Their light gives physical presence to the idea of inward illumination, while the hidden life of fungi becomes a metaphor for the processes that shape us beyond immediate perception. The series is titled Bonum Lumen, Latin for “good light”.
Each sculpture is assembled from copper, brass and bronze joined by visible rivets and brass fittings. Monies avoids seamless construction, allowing the uncertainty, resistance and gradual evolution of the making process to remain legible. He begins intuitively, letting the material and circumstances guide the work before intervening more decisively. In this way, each object develops an individual character rather than reproducing a predetermined design.
The metalwork continues to react to air, moisture and time, accumulating a patina that records its environment. Nature is therefore not simply represented by the sculptures but participates in their continuing transformation. Together, the works propose a landscape in which illumination, imperfection and growth belong to the same living system.

Last day to visit ‘What remains?’ for PAD London 2026
-
Booth A8, Berkeley Square, London, UK
13th to 18th of October

What Remains? — an exhibition of objects that feel at once contemporary and timeless, each piece caught between the moment of its making and a history it seems to have already lived. The presentation is developed in collaboration with Sabah Art, who presents works spanning modern and contemporary practice into dialogue with OWN’s selection.
Every piece was crafted in the present, yet many carry a sense of the past, as though found rather than fabricated. The presentation extends the atmosphere of Objects With Narratives’ award- winning 2023 PAD London exhibition. Not as a recreation, but as a return to the same feeling of discovery, warmth and mystery.
Handmade surfaces, natural imperfections and visible traces of process give each object a physical presence. References to different cultures, periods and places surface throughout.
Several works appear worn before their time, as though age were built into the material rather than accumulated afterward: bronze already carrying a patina, wood already silvered as if by weather, stone softened at the edge as though by hands and touch over decades. It is as if a material remembers a story it never lived. The effect is disorienting in a surprising way: an object can feel newly crafted and long-inhabited at the same time.
Walls from plaster, custom timber flooring and a restrained architectural backdrop form a warm, immersive setting where material, texture and silhouette can hold the room.
What Remains? asks what gives an object the sense that it might outlive the moment of its making: the material, the craft, or simply the possibility that some objects belong to no single time at all.

Excited to be coming again to PAD London next week! One of the artists we will be showing is Karl Monnies.
-
Karl Monies is a multi-disciplinary artist and designer from Copenhagen, Denmark. Magic in its earliest form is often referred to as ‘the art’. Monies believes that art, like magic, is the science of manipulating symbols, words, sounds or images, to achieve changes in consciousness, that art is the essential link between the inner landscapes of one’s psyche and the outside material world. After studying painting in Amsterdam, London and Guangzhou, he felt an urge to activate the medium; to apply function to conceptual objects, a working method where idea and material are inseparable. He works in various dissonant series, where the common thread of material composition corresponds to historical and conceptual ideas. Where craftsmanship and methodology go hand in hand in a sincere vernacular that prioritizes the playful and the naive while possessing a critical awareness.

This pursuit of the uncharted runs through everything Karl makes. He is drawn to objects that resist easy classification, things that carry material memory and reveal rather than conceal the evidence of their making. His work aligns with a broader craft tradition that prizes honesty of material and directness of form, while remaining resolutely contemporary in ambition.

Looking back at Gentle Resilience — Solo Show Christian Fregnan
-
Gentle Resilience marks an important milestone in Christian Fregnan’s professional journey: the debut of his first collection, shaped by a long process of disciplined craftsmanship.
This collection brings together works that explore the materiality of metal from multiple aspects, including the blend of heavy weight yet organic form. Each piece contributes to a larger narrative: exemplifying how contradicting components can coexist to express strength in a quiet and tender way. Organic forms and subtle imperfections are essential elements that make each piece unique and alive. Dictated by the making process, each one shows different levels of intimacy and perpetuity through patination and precise yet spontaneous metal shaping. The collection expresses resilience through the timeless shape and carries the presence of future relics.

The title Gentle Resilience speaks directly to the material, metal as a medium capable of subtlety and emotional presence, and reflects Fregnan’s artistic career. Mirroring his professional journey, the title suggests gradual and constant progression shaped by patience, humility and determination. This exhibition invites the audience to objectify resilience through metal, high-end finishing and practical function. Gentle Resilience is an embodiment of Fregnan’s artistic features of endurance and craftsmanship.
