No’s 7, 8 and 9 ‘Trees’ series works on paper in beautiful lightweight box frames. Ready to place on your sideboard, kitchen window or study bookshelf.

I’m loving producing this fresh new series on paper and experimenting with great success l might add, Dorland’s Wax Medium for a soft none reflective finish.

I will release this series after no.15 each framed piece with be AU 220 + post Aus wide only.

I paint ordinary things and make them extraordinary.

Hi there friends. Sorry l haven’t been around much lately. October has been a busy month however l’m excited to share this pretty little piece with you.

When l finish 15 of these ‘Trees’ series l will put them up for sale.

Depicting beautiful gum trees from along the banks of the Loddon River, Victoria.

‘Trees series’ number 8, sealed with Dorland’s wax medium, buffed with a soft cloth then framed in a lovely box frame.

I particularly like using deep set box frames as seen in this reel for my works on paper because they do not require wiring. Their very generous depth enables them to balance perfectly on a shelf, window sill or in a bookcase.

I find these frames compliment my small artwork making them more appealing to those without a lot of wall space.

Small artwork for interiors.

What a lovely warm Sunday here in Melbourne today. I enjoyed a spot of shopping then relaxing with my daughter and her beautiful baby girl.

Later this afternoon l took the time to trim up my latest three ‘Trees’ series paintings in preparation for wax sealing and framing.

No painting this week.

I’m delighted to let you know that this week we welcomed our very first granddaughter. We’re so grateful she arrived safely, and both Mum and baby are doing beautifully. 💗

I thought I’d take you down to my studio and show you just how lovely my tree studies look in their little box frames. They’re not on the market just yet, although one has already managed to find a new home today. 💗

Okay, I’m hooked!

‘Trees’ no.7

After 30 years of painting on canvas and larger boards, I felt it was time for a change and began creating a series of quick sketches on paper. What started as a simple experiment has turned into something I genuinely love. I’m having so much fun exploring new products, trying different techniques, and learning as I go. I’m completely hooked, and the adorable little square frames I found are the perfect finishing touch.

In this video you see me applying a
•generous coat of Dorland’s Wax Medium
•24hrs later l buff the painting using a shoe polish brush which creates a soft no reflective sheen.
•the painting is then mounted and framed.

I hope you’ll enjoy following along as this new series evolves. It’s exciting stepping outside my comfort zone, and I can’t wait to share each new piece with you as the collection grows.
