Experience a summer of fashion, art and culture at the Liverpool Powerhouse! 🥻✨

Discover ‘The Offbeat Sari: Indian Fashion Unravelled’, a major international exhibition touring from the Design Museum, London, alongside ‘The Dressing Room’, a contemporary art exhibition exploring South Asian cultural identity, inheritance and belonging.

Open from next Saturday 7 November 2026, these exhibitions celebrate craft and cultural knowledge carried through generations.

There’s more to experience, with a program of talks, workshops, performances and community events celebrating Liverpool’s South Asian communities. The program includes:

Some exciting news! 🎉

Our Summer 2025 exhibition, ‘Revealing Dress: Fashion as Portraiture’, has been nominated for an IMAGinE Award!

Bringing contemporary art and fashion together, the exhibition explored themes of identity, culture, power and emotion, marking an important step in our curatorial engagement with the intersections of contemporary art and fashion.

As we look ahead to our next major summer exhibitions, ‘The Offbeat Sari: Indian Fashion Unravelled’ and ‘The Dressing Room,’ we’re thrilled to see ‘Revealing Dress’ recognised for its contribution to this creative direction.

We thank to all artists, designers and collaborators who helped bring the exhibition to life and for their contributions to its success.

What to know what Green Valley was like back in time? 🎬

As part of Liverpool’s 216th birthday celebrations, join us at Liverpool Powerhouse for a special screening of ‘Whatever Happened to Green Valley?’ (1974), a documentary by acclaimed filmmaker Peter Weir.

Once home to more than 30,000 people, Green Valley was often portrayed through sensational headlines and negative stereotypes. This documentary tells resident stories, capturing their homes, families and everyday lives through their own words.

It’s a chance to discover a chapter of our history through the people who lived it.
