PLAYWRITING LABORATORY: WHERE DOES A PLAY BEGIN?

What makes a play begin to exist?

Does it start with a story? A character? A conflict? Or could it begin with an image, a relationship, an atmosphere, an event, a social pressure—or even a question that refuses to go away?

Join Adam Ashraf Elsayigh in this exciting Playwriting Laboratory and explore the early stages of creating an original play.

Rather than starting only with plot, this laboratory invites participants to experiment with different starting points and discover how images, relationships, events, atmospheres, socio-political pressures and philosophical questions can generate scenes, characters and the beginnings of a dramatic structure.

This is a space for curiosity, experimentation and discovering the play that is waiting to emerge.

Ready to find where your play begins?

Join the Playwriting Laboratory and bring your imagination to the page!
