Wildlife struggles as floodwaters surge

Rising floodwaters along the Zambezi and Chobe rivers are taking a devastating toll on wildlife, as water levels climb above 6 metres. What should be life-giving rivers have turned into dangerous currents, leaving animals fighting for survival.
Disturbing scenes are emerging, with drowned zebras seen floating in the increasing river, highlighting the harsh reality of nature under pressure.
Many animals are being displaced from their natural habitats, while others are unable to escape the rapidly rising water
As the floods continue, the impact on ecosystems is becoming more severe, threatening not only individual species but the delicate balance of life along the riverbanks.

The Diplomatic Spouses Association of Zimbabwe held a successful Charity Bazaar at Old Georgians Sports Club. 29+ Diplomatic Missions were represented at the event which attracted a diverse crowd. Such initiatives are commendable because they foster the spirit of giving and also bolster both cultural and international relations. The cross cultural event was also testament of the all inclusive attitude that Zimbabwe has as a friendly nation! All proceeds from the event went to Jairos Jiri. We are proud to have filmed this video in cooperation with DSA!

It was an amazing experience filming this great initiative in winter 2025 at Warren Park Clinic where Tanganda Tea shared free warm cups of tea with everyone at the clinic!
