I had promised that I would organise A Night Of The Poets this September, unfortunately I will not be able to do so in this season. I am stepping back a little from event planning. I will also not be organising Harare Open Mic in the remaining months of 2026. I am taking some time out to recalibrate and refocus on life in general. Wishing you all continued inspiration.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Kumaziva EP consists of 6 songs exploring themes of love, personal growth, and self-awareness in the choices we make. The title draws inspiration from the Shona idiom "Kumaziva ndadzoka". As her first official body of work released online, Ruuniq’s goal is to be a friend through music and sing with a clear purpose. All songs on the EP were written by Rumbidzai Mutasa (Ruuniq).

A song expressing dedication, emphasizing that commitment comes only when one is sure and takes love seriously.

An encouraging track promoting a positive mindset through life's problems rather than dwelling on negativity.

MEET OUR GUEST ARTIST

HOM July Edition

Verity is a classically trained violinist, educator, and self-described “betweener” who recently returned to Zimbabwe after chapters in the USA and Kenya. For over a decade, she’s been crafting a sound of classical harmonies intertwined with the pulse and soul of African music. As a mom, traveler, and researcher, she uses her instrument to explore the rich and musically charged conversations that happen at the intersection where culture, race, and gender meet. She’s looking forward to bringing that dialogue to life alongside fellow artists and the audience at Harare Open Mic.
