Mpiwa Gwindi has a passion for promoting African Arts through the Performing Arts. Towards this goal, she organized the Zimbabwe nationwide event, ZiMarimba Fest 2k18, that broke the Guinness World Record for the largest Marimba ensemble to play together. Mpiwa qualified as a finalist in the Los Angeles World Championships of Performing Arts 2018 with African Traditional Instrumentals, including the Marimba and Mbira.⠀

Last year this time we were preparing to go to Hollywood at the Word Championship of Performing Arts and today he will be defending his Thesis at the University of Pretoria.
Mr Ngara is currently the HOD Department of Performing and Visual Arts at GZU.
Even more interesting is his ground breaking thesis which is about: Musical heritage facing challenges of extinction. The community state model is the possible solution for preserving and sustaining this heritage to promote rural development. In addition this thesis advocates participation of communities in documenting and preserving their heritage at the expense of states who manipulate these communities for political gains.
