It's a wrap! This post celebrates another productive first day in the garden! 🌿

We had welcomed delegates from NSSA for the first day of a three-day conference hosted at Niasha Gardens.

Our team was delighted to serve a menu designed to keep participants energized and engaged throughout the day. Morning tea featured fluffy pancakes and savoury-filled bread, followed by a lunch spread of vegetable rice croquettes, coated broccoli, fresh garden salad, vegetable fried rice, white sadza, potato wedges, flame-grilled pork, and succulent beef kebabs.

Beyond the food, it was wonderful to see meaningful conversations, learning, and collaboration taking place in the tranquil surroundings of the garden.

Everything went smoothly - we are always ready with conferencing, hospitality, and great food.

If you book more days than 1 for your workshop, do not expect the same monotonous meal every day. We change it up every single day

On 'braai day' we live up to the reputation of the 'Gigi sausage'. If you don't know about the sourced sausage in Chinhoyi, run, don't walk, and do your research.

That said, menu of the day:
Morning Tea:

🥪 Polony sandwiches

Lunch:
Starters 🍗 Chicken gizzards and livers

A Hearty Start to the Day 🌿☕

Not every workshop calls for the same menu

This morning, our guests enjoyed a hearty tea break featuring freshly prepared hotdogs, served alongside warm beverages in the tranquil surroundings of Niasha Gardens.

While light pastries and muffins are often the traditional choice for corporate events, there are occasions when a more substantial morning tea makes perfect sense—full-day workshops, outdoor team-building sessions, youth programmes, technical trainings, or events where participants have travelled long distances to attend.

Food is more than refreshment; it helps set the tone, sustain energy levels, and create a welcoming atmosphere for meaningful engagement.

On our 'traditional menu day' our kitchen celebrates the richness of Zimbabwean flavours, serving a menu that blends tradition, nourishment, and hospitality. From mbambaira and freshly prepared sandwiches at tea break to a hearty lunch featuring zviyo sadza, rice dovi, kapenta, maguru nematumbu, free-range roadrunner, and an array of garden-fresh vegetables, every dish is prepared with care and authenticity

This week's workshop participants were treated to a carefully curated menu designed to keep minds engaged and energy levels high throughout the day. From freshly baked muffins, toast and eggs at morning tea, to a satisfying lunch featuring crisp salads, vegetable fried rice, white sadza, spaghetti, flame-grilled pork, roasted fish, and fresh seasonal vegetables, every dish was prepared with care.

At Niasha Gardens, we believe that great workshops are about more than just the meeting room - they're about creating an environment where learning, collaboration, and connection can flourish. As today's session concluded, preparations for tomorrow were already underway.

It was encouraging to see young people engaging with ideas around saving, investing, insurance, and creating opportunities for their future.

We’re a conference & events venue hosting corporate meetings, weddings, product launches, and private functions year-round. Variety, speed, and wow-factor are our standard.

*The Role*
1. Lead the kitchen team to deliver high-volume, high-quality menus for conferences, banquets, and events, as well as prepare a la carte meals for walk in clients
2. Menu planning, costing, and food ordering within budget
3. Maintain food safety, hygiene, and presentation standards
4. Train, schedule, and manage kitchen staff
5. Work closely with Events/Sales team to deliver client briefs and tasting sessions
6. Flexibility for weekends, evenings, and public holidays

*You’re a good fit if you have:*
1. Strong experience with both a la carte and banquet service, buffets, and plated service for 50-500+ pax
2. Knowledge of food safety compliance standards
3. Ability to create menus that are cost-effective, seasonal, and delicious
4. Calm head in a busy service, strong leadership, reliable
5. Culinary qualification is an advantage
