CHICHI SEEKS TO DROP HARRASSMENT CASE AGAINST MWANZA

The Lusaka Magistrate's Court has been informed that journalist Chichi Daisy Lusumpa intends to withdraw her lawsuit against Mutale Mwanza.

Lusumpa had sued fellow media personality Mutale Mwanza for harassment over alleged unprintable language published on M Nation's page. Ms Mwanza faces one count of harassment contrary to section 69 of the Cybercrimes Act of 2025.

This morning, magistrate Mbuvuyana Sinvula heard that the state received a letter from Ms Lusumpa requesting withdrawal of the case from the Director of Public Prosecution DPP, but lacked instructions to proceed.

The matter has been adjourned to April 13th for possible application.

13th March 2026, Kafue Times

Kafue General Hospital Administration is appealing to the public to help identify and locate relatives of an elderly woman believed to be in her mid-70s.

The woman had identified herself as Mrs. Jennifer Mwamba, was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Shimabala about five days ago and was brought to the hospital by a well-wisher.

She has since passed away, and her body remains unclaimed in the hospital mortuary.

Anyone who may know the deceased or her relatives is urged to contact Kafue General Hospital on +260 770 876663 to assist with identification and collection of the body.

Businessman Shadreck Kasanda arrested over fake gold deal!

Police in Lusaka have arrested and charged businessman Shadreck Kapasa Kasanda for allegedly obtaining USD 275,500 from Africa Tango Limited under false pretences.

According to police, Kasanda is accused of obtaining the money in 2018 after claiming he would supply the company with 20 kilograms of gold, a deal that never materialized.

“He is alleged to have obtained Two Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Five Hundred United States Dollars (USD 275,500) from Africa Tango Limited under the pretext that he would supply them with 20 kilograms of gold. The incident is reported to have occurred between July 27, 2018, and October 20, 2018, in Lusaka District,” said Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi in a statement made available to NKANI.

Kasanda has been charged with one count of obtaining money by false pretences and has since been released on police bond, pending court appearance.
