🇿🇲 I just love Zambia!
The energy at Buseko Wood Market is remarkable — the hustle, the determination and the will to survive.
After the recent fire, Rudy, Jade and I went to check on our timber suppliers. Thankfully, they were all okay. ❤️
We hand-picked some beautiful pieces of Mukwa that will soon become our handcrafted wooden picture frames.
Proud to be in Zambia, doing what I love and supporting local. 🇿🇲🪵❤️

COME AND SEE HOW WE MADE THIS CUSTOM PICTURE FRAME! 🖼️✨
This was no ordinary framing job.
We were entrusted with an incredibly special Greek Orthodox wooden icon, over 100 years old. Because of its age and significance, no glue or screws could be used anywhere on the icon.
So we had to think outside the frame! 💡
We custom-designed and made the wooden moulding specifically to accommodate the depth and shape of the icon.
Then came the clever part…
We cast a supportive, cushion-like cradle from Plaster of Paris, shaped to hold the icon securely without permanently attaching anything to it. We then lined the cradle with beautiful golden satin, creating a soft protective surface for the icon to rest in.
The result? A completely bespoke framing solution that supports and showcases this treasured piece while respecting its age and integrity. ❤️
This is what custom picture framing is all about — sometimes the frame has to be engineered around the artwork.

A special finishing touch ✨🎨

Artist Radu Tesaro Kirby personally chooses the perfect frame for a client who purchased one of her beautiful artworks.

There’s something quite special about having the artist herself involved in the final presentation of the piece. ❤️

The artwork, the artist’s vision, and the perfect frame — all coming together at The Art Shop.
