Ben Bram is a 2x Grammy Award winning vocal arranger, producer, and engineer from Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from the USC Thornton School of Music with a degree in music industry and vocal jazz. While at USC, he sang with, arranged for, and musically directed five-time ICCA champions the SoCal VoCals. It was through this group that he met a young Scott Hoying, star vocalist from Arlington, TX.

In 2011, the two combined forces to assemble a supergroup to audition for NBCs The Sing-Off. The group, named by Scott and Ben after the five-note musical scale, ended up winning that season of the show, and went on to become world-renowned vocal sensation Pentatonix. With Ben as their arranging collaborator, producer, and engineer, Pentatonix to date has sold nearly 10 million albums worldwide, with their YouTube channel boasting more than 14.5 million subscribers and over 3 billion video views. Nine of their albums have reached the top 10 on Billboard’s 200 chart (2 at #1) and they’ve received multiple RIAA certifications for multi-platinum, platinum and gold selling albums and singles.

We will chat about the arrangement side of his musical journey so that we can learn some useful techniques on arranging music for a pro group.

Andrea Figallo is a successful singer/musician. Specialized in vocal/choral music, his diverse professional activities include conducting, stage performances, songwriting, arranging, producing, recording, and teaching.
He has sung with the Wise Guys as a bass singer and producer since January 2013. He performed as a bass singer in the Grammy Nominated 2010 Bobby McFerrin's CD “Vocabularies”. Andrea is frequently invited to tour Europe to perform in various venues, hold workshops for singers, serve as a jury member for international competitions, etc. His original compositions and arrangements are recorded and performed in many countries, and albums produced by him have received numerous nominations.
As a teacher of all things vocal, being a versatile musician with a wealth of experience, he is able to provide practical advice to choirs and vocal groups on a wide range of commonly
problematic topics such as choral skills, repertoire proficiency, rehearsal approach, vocal percussion/drumming, rhythmic awareness, stage presence, performance confidence, choreography, microphone technique, and recording techniques etc.

This lesson will focus on crafting basic sounds and rhythms, practicing methods to self-improve, and understanding the role of rhythm in a successful a ca****la group. Those with little or no experience regarding rhythm or beatboxing are welcome in this workshop because things won’t get too intense. You won’t be put on the spot and there are no wrong answers!!!

The Filharmonic an LA-based a ca****la group of Filipino-American youngsters who were featured in NBC’S hit musical competition, The Sing Off, has much to sing about. The 5-piece vocal group made the semi-finals, joined The Sing-Off national tour, and were featured in the Pictures hit movie, Pitch Perfect 2, setting off a viral sensation after their The Late Late Show appearance.
