I noticed her boyfriend flirting with a certain girl and I scoffed
"Can I just say, your boyfriend is a dick" I said
"Trust me I know" she said surprisingly
"This is my chance" she said and walked off as I locked up my booth. She broke up with him and kneed his balls. Hello new friend, I said to myself with a smirk.
"Shall we" she said and I nodded.
"So Annie, is that your real hair or an extension" she asked
"Its my real hair, Lyla, is that your real hair and are you Zambian" I asked and she chuckled
"Yes its my hair, and I'm Zambian, well my dad is Zambian but mom is British" she said. Soon we were at the bus station
"It was really nice meeting you Lyla" I said about to board the bus
"We shall cabbage soon mi lady because meat is too expensive" she said and I burst into laughter
"You truly are Zambian" I said and she boarded a different bus.
I arrived home and there were two jeeps parked outside my house written Cornell university, my stomach turned. The website is real, I don't wanna go to new York hell I don't even have enough money to pay for the fees. I walked in and found a bunch of white people in my living room.
"This is her" mom said
"Congratulations Annie, your scholarship has been approved. You'll be a student at Cornell from next week" the elderly one said
"You're joking right"
"No we're not missing shanton this is once in a lifetime opportunity" he continued and mom smiled
"I'm not going"

I woke up with eye bags and an empty tummy, that's what I get for not eating last night. I prepared myself for work and checked my phone, 45 missed calls from Lindiwe and Nelly I rolled my eyes and threw my phone in my bag. I came home later than usual because I walked as slow as I could. I took a bath and put on my shirts and a tank top then threw myself on the bed. My phone buzzed, Lindy just tagged me in a post captioned 'safe heaven, new York.

*2 months later*

(Sighs) February 14th my most loathed day. Man I hate this day, the only day that girls get anything just for a f**k session.
"These bi***es are stupid" I say to myself as I saw a couple dressed in red and black kissing. Pathetic, I scoffed out loud when I saw a girl wearing a long black gown, she tripped on it and fell face first in a pile of mud. I laughed so loud that other people joined in
"What are you laughing at" the girl asked and I looked left and right then back at her
"Stop acting dumb you know I'm talking to you"
"The dumb one is you for wearing that ridiculously long dress" I said and some people including her boyfriend laughed at her, I kinda felt sorry for her. I came out of my booth and walked up to her as she glared at me with teary eyes. I got a dress from my bag and handed it to her, I always come prepared for such incidents
"You can change in my booth" I said
"Thanks" she said and got in to change my dress fit her perfectly.
"I'm Lyla by the way" she introduced
