💰 DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN OWN A PIECE OF A COMPANY?
You don’t need to be a millionaire to start investing in some of Zambia’s biggest companies.
If a company is listed on the Lusaka Securities Exchange (LuSE), ordinary people can buy its shares and become part-owners of that company.
For example, instead of only buying products or services from companies like CEC, ZCCM-IH, Zambeef or Zanaco, you can actually own a small portion of the company by buying its shares.
So how can you make money?
👉🏾 1. The share price can increase.
If you buy a share at K5 and, over time, it rises to K8, your investment has increased in value.
👉🏾 2. You may receive dividends.
Some companies share part of their profits with shareholders by paying dividends when they declare them.
BUT REMEMBER: Investing in shares is not a get-rich-quick scheme. Prices can go up and they can also go down . Always understand what you're investing in and don't invest money you can't afford to leave invested.
The bigger lesson? You don't always have to spend every kwacha you earn.
You can use part of your money to buy assets that could potentially grow in value and generate income over time.
Start small. Learn first. Think long term.
Your journey to owning a piece of a company can start with much less than you think.
