MINISTRY OF DEFENCE PERMANENT SECRETARY TOURS ZAMCAPITOL ENTERPRISE LIMITED
Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary Mr. Maambo Haamaundu has toured Zamcapitol Enterprise Limited, a company under the Ministry of Defence, to appreciate its operations and innovations aimed at boosting agriculture and national development. The visit took place during a familiarisation tour conducted by the company’s General Manager Brigadier General Kathavia Banda.
During the tour, Brig Gen Banda explained that Zamcapitol Enterprise Limited is currently managing over 100 agriculture-related products designed to help farmers grow, process and preserve their produce. He also showcased the company’s tomato plantation where a significant portion of the crop has been planted as part of efforts to increase agricultural productivity.
Speaking after the tour, Mr. Haamaundu expressed satisfaction with the innovations being undertaken by the company, saying the initiatives were in line with President and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Force Mr. Hakainde Hichilema’s call for innovation-driven development. He noted that the investments being made would contribute to national food security and job creation.
Mr. Haamaundu further commended the company for empowering more than 80 civilian employees with valuable skills that can help them secure employment in different sectors, adding that the Ministry remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote economic growth and community development.
